Centre Pompidou
Let yourself be guided through the largest collection of modern art in Europe, in the heart of Paris.
Opened in 1977, the Centre Pompidou is home to the largest collection of modern art in Europe. It was Georges Pompidou — a great collector and passionate advocate of contemporary art — who envisioned in 1969 a place that could breathe new life into an abandoned neighbourhood, creating a space for encounter and culture accessible to everyone. The museum today brings together works by Kandinsky, Brancusi, Delaunay, Duchamp, Giacometti, Picasso, Niki de Saint Phalle and many others.
During the visit, you will explore the fifth floor, dedicated to modern art from the early 20th century to 1960: from Fauvism to Nouveau Réalisme, through the movements that redefined the history of contemporary art.
The ambition of these artists — founders of the most important movements of the 20th century — was radical: to change our vision of the world, to go beyond reality, to find a personal style, to critique society and to break entirely with classical tradition. A visit that never leaves you indifferent.
